breeding crickets!

Here is a simple way to breed crickets with photos! Step 1. First get the lid of an old cricket
container cut a rectangle shape out of the middle (see picture below)of the lid ,then get yourself
some fly screen make sure its metal as the male crickets will eat through the nylon mesh and
eat the eggs, then get glue and glue the screen to the lid and let dry.

Step 2.
Take the empty container and fill it with washed sand make sure this stays damp all the time
just spray it with water from time to time. Then when the glue on the lid is dry put it on the container
make sure the sand is about 3 to 4 mm below the fly screen .

Step 3.
Get your self 2 large plastic containers one for laying the eggs in and one for hatching the
eggs in. Then get a couple hundred adult crickets and put them into the egg laying container
with the containers full of sand the crickets will lay there eggs into the sand after about a week
or 2 move the containers to the hatching tub where the babys will hatch in a couple of weeks
keep them warm at all times and keep cotton balls soaked with water
in the laying container so the crickets can drink.

breeding mealworms!

Step 1.
This is the easyist way to breed mealworms first get yourself a try container (see pic below) then
fill it with bran about an 3 to 4 inches deep then get yourself about 3 to 400 mealworms and
turn them into beetles by leaving them out of the fridge once this is done put them into the
container with bran (which you can buy in bulk from a fodder store or somewhere where they
sell horse feed ) make sure you have a bunch of cotton balls soaked in water on a flat plastic lid
so they can drink this will help them lay a lot more eggs .Now just let the beetles do there thing
and in time you will have hundreds of mealworms (try and start another breeding tray about a
month after your first one and so on till you have about 5 trays going this will make sure you have mealworms
all the time.
